Exam's over at last! What a brain-wrecking paper! After that, went to Island Creamery with Kok Pin and Huishan. We ordered the New Fudge Sundae - with cookies and cream ice-cream, and ReversO (which is like Roche), and added another scoop of Nutella ice-cream. What wasn't that nice was the enormous scoops of whipped cream at the top which completely occluded our ice-cream. There are other unique flavours like chendol, teh tarik, holicks, ice kachang... they also have baked alaska though not the authentic one.

Weisheng is back! Welcome back! Lynn, Weisheng, Bin and I went to Au Petit Salut yesterday for dinner. Wanted to go to cafe del mar but changed our mind in the end. The ambience was nice and classy. We were sandwiched between 2 tables of "atas" tai-tais, and another half of the restaurant was filled with caucasians. We also saw 1 surgical registrar there who was rumoured to be very rich and drives flashy cars.

Our complimentary bread
For appetizer, the 4 of us shared...

Half dozen baked Burgundy snails with tomato and garlic butter $12

Pan-seared duck Foie Gras served with baby spinach, red onions and Xeres vinegar $29.
For main course....

Seared Boston lobster and scallops risotto with fresh herbs and lobster emulsion $36

Oven roasted French quail stuffed with duck Foie Gras and wild mushrooms, mashed potatoes and brown jus $32

Slow braised lamb shank in orange and white wine, fennel and mashed potatoes $30

Oven baked whole baby French seabass "butterfly" served with mixed greens and fennel salad, thyme and Nicoise vignaigrette $30

Weisheng loved his quail. My lamb was not bad. But the foie gras and the escargot were still the highlight of the night.
