Then we met the rest of the girls for dinner in Shaslik Restaurant. Eating in Shaslik is an experience of its own. It is a very traditional Russian restaurant and has been around for many many years. Even the waitresses and waiters seem like they've been working there for decades. Eating there is like eating in a very rich friend's house. Everything is very prim and proper, no-nonsense kind of place. Despite being located in ulu-6th storey of Far East Shopping Centre, their good old name still brings them many customers even on a weekday night. Love the restaurant, love the food and love the desserts!

It's an ice-cream cake coated with a layer of sponge cake and then cream. Alcohol with fire will be poured over the cream, leaving a burnt crusty surface.

The first time I ate in the famous duck rice shop at the end of Singapore's windiest road was many many years ago after my medical interview to enter medical school. Hence the place had sentimental memories. Haha..

Then we hopped over to Tom's Palette over in Shaw. They were well-known for their unusual flavours like lavender, teh tarik, apple pie, choc stout, lychee & rose, etc. We are not so adventurous. We decided on Granny's favourite (maltese and hazelnut) and chocolate (yes, your very normal chocolate). 1 medium cup which allows up to 2 different flavours costs $4.50.

I first tried the cakes in Patissier many years ago from the Ann Siang Hill branch. I decided to relive my experience by visiting the one in Mohd Sultan. We bought the hazelnut choc cake, delicious, rich and sinful! Pricey though, at $6.50.

Congratulations Rebecca and Albert on their big day on 6th Dec 2008! Their church wedding was held in The Risen Christ, Toa Payoh. Rebecca's gown had one of the longest train I ever saw. Haha
