Went to da Vinci exhibition in science centre recently. Paid $16 for entrance which included science centre entry. Learnt more about Da Vinci's inventions and paintings which is very interesting. He's really a great thinker and had interests in so many fields, eg military, air science, maths, painting, anatomy, etc. Kok Pin says he must be very free to come up with all these. Haha. Also, there were more details regarding the picture of mona lisa, like what was the original colour, which part of the painting has defects from someone throwing a rock, painted varnish on it, etc. Apparently he drew a lot of anatomy pictures after dissecting a lot of corpses and these pictures form the basis of our anatomy text Grey's Anatomy.

Taking advantage of American Express 1-for-1, we went to chatterbox to try the legendary expensive chicken rice. Haha... the restaurant now sits on the 39th level of Mandarin hotel which used to sit Top of the M. It provides great view and great service too.

The $22 chicken rice with unlimited rice and soup. The portion of chicken is quite big and greedy me ate 2 bowls of rice. That's why I was so full! Chicken's nice and love the soy sauce. Is it worth the $22? If taking into account the view, maybe. But I will definitely not eat it again unless it's half price or less! haha

Chatterbox is located in:
Meritus Mandarin Grand Tower Level 38 (then walk up 1 level)

Yesterday, we went for the NDP rehearsal. I just love going NDP! My close friends will know that I practically go always every year! haha I'm so patriotic! I love NDP because it is a celebration of the stability and prosperity of Singapore. I just feel so fortunate to live in Singapore. The words of a former teacher who grew up in the war-era remained etched in my mind - he said that to be able to sing the national anthem during school assembly is something we shouldn't take for granted as it means that our country is not at war. It may sound cheesy, but somehow I really appreciated what he meant.
