little miss sunshine

Now being back to Spore means back to trying new food! A visit to Iggy's at long last! Hehe... Bin and I happened to have yesterday afternoon off. (Me post-night and Bin's still having his break). So we decided to make use of the relatively cheaper set lunch. We were choosing between Il Lido, Garibaldi, Jaan or Iggy's. Bin decided on Iggy's. Such a small and classy restaurant, dedicated to serving only a handful of people. It was quite a stressful lunch, in the sense that it's super fine-dining, and I felt that I was constantly being watched. haha... We were sitting at the counter bar, with a waiter serving our every needs. Change of utensils with each dish, a roll of wet towel for my Waygu burger (was he expecting me to use my bare hands to eat it?)...he's always there. Both of us ate the 3 courses at $45++.

The complimentary bread and complimentary pumpkin puree with tofu (a little too salty for me)

Part 2 - Appetiser

Pappardelle with mushrooms and kurobuta pork ragout - nice!

Sakura ebi cappelini with konbu and home-made scampi oil (Bin absolutely loves this!)

Part 3 - Main course

Iggy's burger - home-made Wagyu burger with white truffle sabayon (though it looked small, it's very filling. Tasty but rather ordinary tasting to me. )

Charcoal-grilled pork cheek with onion confit and mashes potatoes (Super tender. Bin loves it!)

Part 4 - Dessert

Champagne jelly and sorbet with elderflower foam (not exactly a fan of alcohol-tasting food. the waiter highly recommended this. so i guess to those who love alcohol added to food, this must have tasted great)

Chocolate cylinder with maple syrup ice-cream and French toast (Bin loves it!)

Apparently, the lunch set menu changes very often, ?every week. Dinner course would have cost $150++. I guess they deserved being the 4th best restaurant in Asia and 98th best in the world, in the sense that they put in great details to each dish.
