On my last off day, Joan and I hanged out at my all-time favourite Jones the Grocer for high tea.
Chocolate sponge cake with vanilla bean ice-cream with some floss - yummy! $9.50
Joan and her mocha
Joan's salad $13.50
Yummy cupcakes on display
Then we met the rest of the girls for dinner in Shaslik Restaurant. Eating in Shaslik is an experience of its own. It is a very traditional Russian restaurant and has been around for many many years. Even the waitresses and waiters seem like they've been working there for decades. Eating there is like eating in a very rich friend's house. Everything is very prim and proper, no-nonsense kind of place. Despite being located in ulu-6th storey of Far East Shopping Centre, their good old name still brings them many customers even on a weekday night. Love the restaurant, love the food and love the desserts!
Complimentary bread
Me and Joan
My mushroom soup $6
The Borsh Soup $7 - yummy! regretted not getting this.

Wan's chicken chop
The highlight of the meal... Baked Alaska $16 - yummy!
It's an ice-cream cake coated with a layer of sponge cake and then cream. Alcohol with fire will be poured over the cream, leaving a burnt crusty surface.
